Recording in fullscreen
Record multi-device product demos on a styled canvas — several phones at once with custom backgrounds, in one take.
Why record in fullscreen
Window recording is great for a single device. When you need a product demo with two or more phones — comparison videos, launch teasers, or “works on every size” marketing — fullscreen gives you one clean canvas. You lay out every mirrored device, style the background once, and record the whole scene in a single take. No video editor required.
Multi-device recording
Lumox can mirror multiple iPhones and iPads at the same time. Each device gets its own window on your Mac. In fullscreen you arrange them side by side (or any layout you like), scale each tile, and hit record — the output is one video file with every device visible together.
- Connect your first device via AirPlay (see Mirroring).
- Repeat for each additional phone or tablet — each opens a new mirror window.
- Enter fullscreen mode with ⌃⌘F (Mac) or F11 (Windows/Linux).
- Position and resize devices on the canvas until the layout looks right.
- Start recording — the file is saved to the Media Library when you stop.
Pro tip: Turn on Do Not Disturb on every device and align status bars before you record. Pair with Custom status bar for perfectly consistent marketing clips.
Custom backgrounds
Fullscreen recordings include whatever background you choose — not your messy desktop. Lumox ships with solid colors, gradients, macOS wallpapers, and a transparent mode. You can also upload your own images to match brand guidelines or drop the video straight onto a landing page.
- Open Settings → Appearance to pick a default background.
- Use built-in presets or add a custom file from your brand kit.
- The same background wraps the entire fullscreen canvas — all devices share one cohesive look.
What ends up in the video
The recording captures exactly what you see: every device screen, optional bezels, your background, and custom status bar styling. Frame rate follows the mirror stream — up to 60 fps when your network and devices support it.
Single-device fullscreen
You do not need multiple devices to benefit from fullscreen recording. One phone on a branded background is ideal for tutorials, App Store previews, and social clips without desktop clutter.
